We were so thrilled to finally see this amazing wedding featured on Southern Weddings today! Be sure to check out the post HERE.
It is no secret that Vinewood is one of our absolute FAVORITE wedding venues, so of course we were thrilled to be asked to participate in their spring open house. We were on beautiful detail overload (if that can even happen??) with each table we photographed. Christy and I say this all the time, but we are SO blessed to be able to work with the most talented people in the wedding industry…and even more fortunate to call them friends. This is not a biased plug, so we’ll let the photos speak for themselves! Be sure to view the list of vendors who participated at the bottom of the post.
To all of our ‘friendors’ involved in the show, please use the link HERE to access the full gallery of images for your personal/business use. Enjoy!!

This moment was so adorable and unexpected!! We met one of our 2014 brides at this event and she introduced us to her friend as her maid of honor, but this was the first time her friend heard of it! We love that we were there to snap these reaction photos! So sweet!!

Shannon is an AMAZING photographer, and occasional second shooter for us…she and her boyfriend Mark are quite possibly the cutest couple EVER, so we just had to get them in front of our cameras. Full post to come, but here’s a little teaser….

These two stole our hearts from our very first meeting. We have been dying to share this amazing wedding for months now…

Today I wanted to share a story of inspiration and love that truly touched me.
Meet Esteven. He is the most joyful child I have ever met. He always has a smile on his face and is full of laughter.
Rewind back about a year ago, my sweet friend Kayla lived in Honduras for a little less than a year and worked in an orphanage there loving children and the people of the village. Kayla was visiting some villagers’ home and “happened to find [Esteven] padlocked inside alone, naked, and with ants crawling all over his body.” Esteven had one of the most severe cases of cerebral palsy that she had ever witnessed. His legs were like spaghetti, almost completely useless and atrophied. His muscle movements in his arms and hands were not controlled enough to feed himself. When Kayla found him he was 11 years old and only 26 pounds, so not only did he have a severe disability, but he was malnourished and neglected as well.
As is sadly common in a situation like this, the disabled child becomes a burden, and a source of hatred for their parents. “When talking with Esteven’s older sister, she told me that if Esteven points to food, her mother responds by telling him that if he can’t walk and go poop by himself, he has no right to be begging for food,” Kayla explained.
Despite all that Esteven has been through, he is intelligent, loving, funny and loves to laugh. In Honduras, Kayla cared for Esteven during the day changing his diapers, dressing him, feeding him, and just loving on him. Kayla explains “he has taught me the meaning of ‘the least of these’, and however frustrated, exhausted, or unable I feel I am, I can look at him and see grace that comes from a face that has seen so much hurt, and love from a person that has been so unloved in his life. He just has to look at me and I know that the problems we face here in this world will not be forever.”
Months after meeting Esteven, Kayla was scheduled to come home from Honduras and could not stand the idea of leaving Esteven behind just to be locked back up in a shed in the back again. After discussing the idea with her parents, Kayla decided to bring Esteven back to The States on a medical visa, despite the cost. Kayla could get him physical therapy, speech therapy, dental treatment for his rotting teeth, proper nutrition and a loving home. Kayla’s family talked through all the possibilities and logistics and money involved in bringing Esteven to The States. Her parents asked, “Kayla, I just want you to be prepared for anything. Esteven could come here and after 3 months he could die. Are you prepared to deal with that?” Kayla replied,
Yes, but at least he will know what it is like to be loved.
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
-Psalm 82:3-4
Esteven has now lived in The States since January with Kayla. He is in therapy, learning sign language and gained 10 pounds. He now knows what it is like to be loved with the love of Christ. Kayla has given up so much in her life to change the life of one sweet boy. She is slowly changing the world one life at a time.
“I know confidently that there is a just God that holds a very special place in heaven for people like Esteban. I feel honored to be able to know him, happy to spend my days with him, and grateful for what he has taught me. I spend my days with an angel here, and what an incredible gift that is!”
Last weekend, I had the privilege of hanging out and taking pictures of Esteven and Kayla- what a joy. There is so much love present. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two.

We are so excited to share Jessica & Ryan’s wedding with you….and so thrilled that southern wedding blog, The Lovely Find, decided to publish it! You can view the full post HERE. And if you are a bride to be, make sure you bookmark their blog to be inspired for your southern wedding!
My name is Erin Wood.
I am the newest member of the Paperlily Photography team and could not be more excited. I wanted to take some time to introduce myself and let you know a little bit about who I am.
I love photography! I still can’t believe that this is my job. I love what I do and love what I get to be a part of. I love the art of capturing people’s emotions- not just what they looked like on that day, but how they felt. I’m inspired by nature, beautiful light and of course, your dazzling smile.
I’m married to Josh. He’s my best friend, my hero and the funniest person I know. He’s a movie buff, love the outdoors, and is super creative. He’s my biggest fan and loves me through it all. I don’t know what I would do without him by my side.
I appreciate beautiful design, beautiful colors and beautiful paper. I am a self-proclaimed foodie, which probably stems from growing up with my brother, a gourmet chef. I frequently enjoy listening to movie soundtracks (Wall-E might be one of my favorites). I love exploring all the cultures of the world and traveling to places far away. Being in nature makes my soul happy and constantly reminds me of how creative our God is and how much he loves us. I love my cat- Josie, children’s giggles, golden Oreos, raised-bed gardens, farmer’s markets, a good cannoli, laughing, sunsets and my dear family and friends. I strive to love people as God loves people.
I love Jesus. He totally rocks my world in a big way. I stand in awe everyday of His radical grace that he has shown me. I have been blessed with immeasurably more than I could even hope for and owe all my successes to Him.
I’m ecstatic to be joining this team and can’t wait to share life with you and capture those sweet moments that you want to treasure forever.
